Database Engineer (M/F) - Hong Kong

As part of our expansion in Hong Kong, we are looking for a Database Engineer.

Quanteam is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious global quantitative investment firm, recognized for its activities across all major liquid asset classes worldwide.

Your RESPONSIBILITIES

This person will be a key member of the global database team, responsible for supporting, administering, and securing the organization’s databases. The role offers exposure to many aspects of database-related projects, including administration, high availability (Always-On/High Availability), capacity planning, data warehouses, database design, and more.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work closely with users across all departments to identify and resolve issues related to information flow and content
  • Enable and support the transformation of business requirements into database solutions
  • Design and develop robust and innovative systems to keep the company at the forefront of its industry

Your PROFILE

You must be organized, proactive, and a team player; able to work under pressure with excellent time management skills.

Your SKILLS

  • More than 5 years of experience in database administration in a production environment. Proficiency in at least two of the following technologies is required: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
  • Experience in managing production databases, using at least two of the following technologies: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with one or more database programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
  • Experience in security and permissions management.
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell or Shell script; Python is a plus.
  • Experience in cloud database administration would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices.
